Pamela McNair-Wingate founded Gadabout SalonSpas in Tucson, Arizona in 1979. Today the Kansas City born hair designer-turned-entrepreneur oversees an impressive multi-million dollar, award-winning business that includes seven salon locations in Tucson including Gadabout Man, Arizona’s first day spa for men, as well as Salone Gadabout in Alberobello, Bari, Italy.

Pam has always believed that her best investment is in her employees. To that end Gadabout provides continuing education classes on the latest salon and spa innovations and products, seminars in communication, personal growth, financial management, relationship building and customer loyalty as well as Weight Watchers classes and more. Pam and her management team are masters of motivation, offering incentive programs that encourage employees to achieve their own maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. Additionally, Gadabout’s innovative two year intern training and mentorship program provides an ongoing source of highly skilled staff.

Pam also believes in rewarding success. Every March at the annual "Gaddy Awards" ceremony the entire company comes together to hear a powerful motivational speaker and for the presentation of specially designed awards that are presented to employees who have achieved excellence in personal and professional growth.

As a result, Gadabout SalonSpa employees are committed to the Gadabout standard of excellence and work tirelessly to enrich the lives of their clients through beauty, health, and wellness. Holding to these standards and providing the finest service and products all keep the Gadabout mission in focus - helping their clients find the beauty within.

Pam believes in giving back, not only to her industry but also to her community. As President of Intercoiffure America Canada she oversees standards and practices in the industry. She also serves on the board of other professional organizations including TSA (The Salon Association) and ISPA (International Spa Association). In her community, she sits on the board of Canyon Community Bank and is a founder and emeritus member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. Under her leadership, the company supports many special causes including the Susan G. Koman Foundation, Project Yes, Tu Nidito, The Women’s Foundation of Southern AZ, the Parseghian Foundation, Angel Charities for Children, the Brewster Center and the "Image Up" program she founded in 1996 to help improve the self esteem of children from troubled homes.

Gadabout SalonSpas has maintained its award winning status receiving both local and national acclaim throughout the years. Gadabout received the "Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year" award in 5 categories at the Global Business Awards in London in 2004; the Salon Today Magazines "Salon of the Year" award in 2004 and in 2006 was voted "Best Salon" for the 6th year in a row and "Best Day Spa" for the 2nd time in the Tucson Weekly annual "Best Of" Awards.

Personally, Pam exemplifies "joie de vivre" with her love of family, friends and travel, and by living each day to the fullest with love and humor and a keen eye on what’s coming next. In 2003, Pam received the Tu Nidito, Tucson Lifestyle Magazine award for "Most Remarkable Mom".

Today, still going strong, Pam is looking forward to the addition of several new Gadabout SalonSpas locations over the next several years, to accommodate Tucson’s growing population.
