TUCSON, Ariz. (April 25, 2007) — The Tucson Advertising Federation recently selected Pamela McNair-Wingate of Gadabout SalonSpa as its recipient of the 2007 Phyllis Ehlinger Women of Excellence Award. The award was presented at a luncheon program Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.

The Tucson Advertising Federation’s award committee selected Ms. McNair-Wingate from a group of nine outstanding nominees whose names were submitted for consideration. McNair-Wingate founded Gadabout SalonSpas in Tucson, Arizona in 1979. Today the Kansas City born hair designer-turned-entrepreneur oversees an impressive multi-million dollar, award-winning business that includes seven salon locations in Tucson including Gadabout Man, Arizona’s first day spa for men, as well as Salone Gadabout in Alberobello, Bari, Italy.

The Phyllis Ehlinger Women of Excellence Award was established by the Tucson Advertising Federation in 2007 to recognize local women who have demonstrated success within their industry, along with a dedication to philanthropy and mentoring. As one of Tucson’s most dynamic employers and generous benefactors, Pam is truly deserving of this special award.
