Tucson, AZ ~ January 2007 ~
The opening of the Peter and Paula Fasseas Cancer Clinic at UMC North on 3838 N Campbell Avenue ushered in a new era in cancer care for our community. Offering the latest in cancer research and treatments, the center brings together a complete spectrum of cancer care for both the body and soul. From the serene meditation gardens to the state of the art chemotherapy rooms, not a detail has been overlooked. It is truly a place of healing.

When they heard about this project several years ago, the Gadabout SalonSpa family, led by Pamela McNair Wingate and Jana and Frank Westerbeke, was among the first to lend their support by underwriting the costs of an in house salon to serve patient needs. The salon will be staffed (by appointment) by Gadabout technicians and certified stylists from other salons in Tucson who have had special training. They will provide much needed services to help patients look and feel better while undergoing treatments that often ravage their skin and hair.
Company Vice President, Frank Westebeke, who did much of the floor tile installation in the salon, is very excited about being part of the future of Cancer care. "This has really been a labor of love for us. At Gadabout, our philosophy is that ’beauty lies within’ us all and we know how important a positive self image is to the total healing process. If we can make a difference in the way someone feels about themselves by giving them a way to cope with the loss of hair and skin tone then we all win."
Appointments can be made by calling the Cancer Center at (520) 694-2873.
