Pamela McNair-Wingate
From the day she founded Gadabout Salon Spas in Tucson, Arizona, Pam has always believed that her best investment is in her employees. To that end Gadabout provides continuing education classes on the latest salon and spa innovations and products, seminars in communication, personal growth, financial management, relationship building and customer service.
Now, more than ever, Pam believes in giving back to her industry and to her community. As Past-Treasurer of Intercoiffure America Canada she oversees standards and practices in the industry. She also serves on the board of other professional organizations including TSA (The Salon Association) and ISPA (International Spa Association). In Tucson, Pam sits on the board of Canyon Community Bank and is a founder and emeritus member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. Honored by the recognition, Pam is a recipient of the Tu Nidito, Tucson Lifestyle Magazine award for "Most Remarkable Mom".
Personally, Pam exemplifies "joie de vivre" with her love of family, friends and travel, and by living each day to the fullest with love and humor and a keen eye on what’s coming next. Today, still as enthusiastic as ever, Pam is looking forward to the addition of several new Gadabout Salon Spas locations to continue doing what she loves.
Frank Westerbeke
As a "rookie" stylist in training, Frank entered the Gadabout family 25 years ago as one of the first employees hired at a new salon owned by a talented young newcomer to Tucson — Pam McNair, who would become his mentor, his dear friend and ultimately his mother-in-law.
The winner of numerous awards throughout his career, Frank channels his creativity by bringing out the personality of his guests through innovative style and color techniques. That same creativity allows him to develop cutting edge building and space design for the Gadabout & VerVe Salons.
This year Frank will celebrate his 22nd anniversary with his wife Jana with whom he has two beautiful daughters--Wylie and Wagner--and will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of Gadabout Salon Spas. Gadabout, the business that brought them together, continues to be a labor of love. And the future is ever unfolding for this dreamer of beauty.
Jana Westerbeke
Daughter of Pam McNair-Wingate, Jana grew up in the hustle and excitement of the beauty industry. As Gadabout’s first intern, Jana discovered her true passion in life. Working side by side with her mother, Jana helped create the vision and philosophy that is Gadabout. In 2005, the torch was passed from mother to daughter and today, as President and Director of Guest Relations at Gadabout Salon Spas, Jana carries on the high standards of excellence instilled by her mother.
Thanks to her talents and desire to never stop learning, Jana has been an internationally recognized hairdresser since 1980. She participated in the Young ICD for Intercoiffure and style demonstrations at the organization’s World Congress in Germany. She is an active member of TSA, Intercoiffure, ISPA and ICSA. In the Tucson community, Jana was awarded the 2008 Women of Influence Award presented by Inside Tucson Business for her "pay it forward" mentality. Jana was also selected as one of the first five finalists of the Athena Award presented by the Arizona Small Business Association in its inaugural year 2010.
In addition to being a totally devoted mother of two beautiful daughters, and partner in life with her husband Frank, Jana has garnered a noble reputation thanks to her extensive philanthropic work. One of her proudest projects was in 2006 when Gadabout underwrote the costs of an in-house salon at the new Peter & Paula Fasseas Cancer Center at UMC North to serve patient needs. Jana will continue to pursue her passion for helping others, and it is her sincere hope that her peers and colleagues continue doing the same.
